Volunteer Africa 32 Degrees South (VA32)

Volunteer Africa 32 Degrees SouthVA32 is a volunteer organization based in Chintsa which places international volunteers into projects & initiatives in the local community. These projects address education, conservation and humanitarian issues and drive positive and sustainable change. 

 The following Projects are accepting volunteers now:

EDUCATION PROJECTS

Wild Coast Schools Project Teach computer literacy and sports in local rural schools. This project is Fair Trade in Tourism (FTTSA) accredited and comes highly recommended.

Community Preschool Project 
Join severely disadvantaged children in under-resourced, under-staffed rural preschools where extra hands are vital.

Waldorf Nursery Project Support young children and teachers in a Waldorf Nursery School environment where creativity is nurtured.

African Angels Independent School Project The new African Angels Independent School teaches children who are sponsored in by supporters of the African Angels charity. 

WILDLIFE PROJECTS

Rhino Ambassador Stewardship Project  The Rhino faces extinction in Africa - get involved and join important efforts to solve this problem, while it counts.

Chintsa Horse Project volunteer on this working horse farm and rehabilitation centre which takes in horses in need of serious attantion and care.

Kei Kubusi Wildlife Experience Live, learn and experience pure South African Conservation on this 10 000 hectare reserve.

VA32 Launch Rhino Ambassador Stewardship Project (RASP)

The latest addition to the Volunteer Africa project base addresses a very real threat to South Africa’s conservation efforts and the world’s population of rhino. In the two articles which preceded this one I explained how the rhino is facing extinction in South Africa due to poachers and what you can do to help fight this problem.

In this final article VA32 offers an opportunity to be physically involved in conservation work which supports the efforts of anti-poaching organisations in South Africa. This opportunity is a break-away from what has become the norm in volunteer programs and puts the onus on the volunteer to continue their work and raise awareness of the plight of the rhino after leaving the physical aspect of the project in South Africa.
