Gary Thomas | 18th September 2013
Currently one of South Africa's most popular, homegrown singer-songwriters, Thomas was born in Durban and moved to Cape Town in 2006.
Having always had a passion for music and for the guitar in particular, Thomas studied classical guitar and graduated from the university of KZN in 2005, specializing in jazz guitar. His debut album "Wooden Boxes and Thought Hunting" was released in 2009, closely followed by his second album "Contraption Distoria" in 2010. More recently he released his third album "Midnight Atlas" in 2012.
"Midnight Atlas is a virtuoso display of Thomas' left- field indie- folk mastery" - Rolling Stone
Thomas has recently returned from highly successful European Tour, as well as performing ten sell out concerts at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown in 2013.
His music, described as "Anti-Folk, Indie, Psy-Folk, Alternative and Acoustic" absorbs the listener in a wealth of sound created by Thomas himself as a solo artist through vocals and guitar. The mysterious harmonies and gritty vocals create a unique sound and style which should not be missed.

Paige Mac | 22nd September 2013
Duo Paige MacMahon and cousin Gary Van Vuuren will be performing on guitars, vocals and bass in the Skebenga bar at Buccaneers. Mac's fame came about when Universal signed her band after Benjy Mudie saw her performing one of her most popular songs "Atrophy" on youtube. This haunting, emotive song, written for her adoptive mother, epitomizes the style of music, quality of tone and lyrics which Mac achieves.
Mac's debut album was released in 2012 with songs covering a whole range of feelings and styles, some resonate with her raw emotive lyrics, and others can't help but get listeners jumping up on their feet to dance; a rare chance to catch one of South Africa's best young bands performing in the Eastern Cape - don't miss out!
